Slave: Namesakes

Namesakes: by Slave Scribbler
-----------------------------

John Wilmot, Earl of Rochester
In Restoration times,
Kept gossips' tongues at Court astir
By writing bawdy rhymes

And leading such a dissolute
Rhyme-imitating life
As e'en its gay King did not suit,
Still less his Lady wife,

Who could not bring him to behave
Or mind her moral checks.
So Earl R. got the early grave
Due for surfeit of sex.

Had Lady R. then known the tricks
She who now bears that name
Possesses as dominatrix
Such foolish men to tame,

He could have reached his eightieth year,
As well-trained slave then died;
Coffined, his neck would collar bear,
And cane-marks his backside.
